Our Story

 

South Devon Construction is owned and operated by Steve, a Devon local “born and bred.” Our company was founded on the belief that high-quality construction shouldn’t be complicated. We believe in a tailor-made approach, understanding that every build is unique—from the smallest landscaping job to the most complex structural renovation.

Steve’s journey in the building trade began over 25 years ago. Starting as a labourer, he learned the industry from the ground up, mastering the hard graft before moving into management. Today, he brings a rare combination of hands-on practical skills and high-level professional qualifications to every project, holding a Level 3 Diploma in Quantity Surveying and Cost Estimation and a Level 7 Diploma in Construction Management.

  • As Principal Contractors: For larger scale projects—such as extensions, conversions, and new builds—we take the lead. We coordinate with architects, manage Building Control, and supervise multiple trades to ensure your vision is executed perfectly. We can even act as the Principal Designer if required.
